About
First of all - I suck at this.
I’m not really good at talking about myself but since the ‘About’ page is the first thing a lot of people head to on a blog I feel like I have to give my best to say something about myself here.
My name is Marcel, I was born in the mid-90s and live in Germany.
People describe me as a calm person who is always honest and expresses his opinion purposefully.
However, I also have my crazy side, which I only really show personally.
I love nature, it is great to go out and feel the sun on my skin.
Nature is a good and necessary change when you work in IT - but more about that later in a post.
In my spare time I just like to go out with friends, have a beer with them (hello German prejudices) or play billiards or bowling.
I started a vocational training as an IT specialist in 2014 and successfully completed and got my computer science degree in 2017.
I did this vocational training at an MSP where I worked until December 2019.
In January 2020 I accepted a new job as sysadmin and now I work in a small team for a growing healthcare company.
My passion in IT is networking and datacenter infrastructure. My other passion is Linux and the open source community. I love the many opportunities that are created by it.
I love my job. I love IT and couldn’t imagine a different or better job. IT is what I love and what I enjoy doing. It doesn’t matter who you work for or what kind of company you work for, it only depends on what you love to do.
Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.

I love talking about what I do.
I love to tell stories from my life or share my stories from IT.
I would like to follow this up on my blog and maybe help some of you to decide for (or against) a job in IT.
I also want to publish occasional instructions and guides on various topics.
I don’t know yet where exactly this blog leads to - but I’d like to find out and would be happy about any feedback from you.
To be honest - even if I could only reach one person out there, that would already make me happy and it would make it worth for me.
If you ever feel like something I’m saying is wrong or you don’t agree with me about something just hit me up - I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
